Sponsors with Hosted Free Sites
 

I am puzzled at why the majority of sponsors haven't started offering hosted free sites. Are there any thoughts on this?

I would think it would double their traffic and income almost over night...

I think most of them:
A - don't know anything about free sites
B - are blinded by the amount of TGP traffic & think there's no need for hosted free sites.

Of course, there seems to be another sponsor making hosted free sites each week, so things are getting better :)

Free Hosted Sites (FHS) are great traffic but it takes a different commitment to create them then it does to just create Galleries. Many programs have 1 or 2 TGP templates that they use and they'll create 100s of galleries with just those templates. To get started with FHS requires about 30 templates and most designers don't know anything about free sites.

One of the best things about creating and submitting free sites is having some top Google sites linking to your free site and getting some great SE traffic. With HFS the link lists have affiliate codes and things in the links and Google doesn't count that so you loose some of the effectiveness.

All that being said, I'm creating FHS and seeing some returns from the effort. It has required a lot more effort (huge in comparison) then the FHG and the returns don't come as fast.

The truth is that I hope programs don’t create more free hosted sites then I’ll be the only one and it will be easier to justify :)

I wonder if I could get XXX Jay to write some copy for my FHS. If they didn't convert at least they'd be a great read and I'm sure to get them listed |jester|

GreenGuy and SirMoby - Very informative stuff! I didn't think about the fact that there is more involved than building TGP templates or that you would need to make alot more templates then for tgp galleries.

You are right about the fact that most designers don't know jack about building free sites, especially the marketing end. Honestly most designers are just skillful with a slick graphics program and they can make it look real nice but even alot of the TGP template designs out there LACK the marketing that is essential to a good design that will convert.

I think we will probably see more Sponsor programs start offering FHS but it will probably take a push from big DAWGS like a little cousin of Slimer's from Ghostbusters..

To do my hosted thumbnail pages I'm using SSI. I have my webmasters using the following type of link code:

And then on my page (which I give a shtml ending) I have the following code for each of my banners:

Can I do the same thing for a hosted free site, but just name each page in the site .shtml and have the above code on banners on every page? Will the code follow through over multiple pages?

If not, what's my option? (Remember I'm a dumb, dumb boy when it comes to server issues :) )

In theory, yes, it's the same way - but you have to carry on the webmaster's account number from page to page, so the coding for the "enter" link that leads to the main page would have to look something like:

& then the links from there to the galleries would look like:

http://www.hostedgalleries.info/host.../galery1.shtml
http://www.hostedgalleries.info/host...gallery2.shtml

What would you guys be more interested in first.... panty or cheerleader? Also, how many free sites per template would be acceptable (with a different header graphic, and different color schemes changed for each free site)?

Some will want panty, some will want cheerleader, some will want legit upskirts - some of us, like me, will want all :D

As far as templates go, I'd swap them out as much as possible - if you do 5 free sites a week for partners, then I'd probably make them all different templates & maybe re-use them the next week for different niche's.

Alright, I have 5 of these hosted sites made (and should have another 5 done by the end of the weekend). I just need to change out the shtml for the html on the other 4 of them I have now. Before I did that I wanted you guys to test it out for me. Plus comments on the site. Anyway, I made a test page to send the "reseller" through the site. I put mouse overs on the banners, so right click. Let me know if there are any problems or reasons you link list owners wouldn't want this on your site (with your reseller code passed through of course):

Thanks guys! Been working on them all day. Once I have a bigger list done I'll post them here. I have 7 made as of now, and 3 are on the server ready to go.

I'm having an employee make 'em, and he only knows dreamweaver......... my god that program outputs some awful, awful HTML. I'm having to go through each site and clean it up so the search engines might take notice.

tat2jr - If you need some help with critiques post the sites before you get them finalized. I'm sure you can get some valuable info on getting conversions up, increasing search engine traffic, and making the sites fit into what alot of places are looking for.

If you don't want to post the sites before you release them shoot me a PM and I will review the site privately and shoot you some advice..

Off the top of my head I would just like to mention that you are skipping some really important items on your sites for the Search Engines..other than that though .. hats off to you bro for getting some FHS up and going .. I wish others would follow suit.

Sure, I wouldn't mind some critiques. I know these aren't really SE ready, but I'm just trying to fix what he did quickly, and not rewrite the whole site. If you'd like to critique some sites for SE, go for these:

Like I said when I redid these sites from my employee's Dreamweaver crap I was really going for speed, so I know they're not optimized. Feel free to comment on anything though.

BTW - those 3 hosted sites are ready to go if anyone wants to put them in their list.

tat2jr - just a suggestion, but start to put the list up on your site someplace (maybe on http://www.nichemoney.com/marketing.html perhaps?) & put the dates you added them next to them so morons like me know what's new & what I already have :)

Then spam..errr..ahhh..ummm send a newsletter out once a week with the newest free sites :)

You said it right. Also a lot of designers do not know about Free sites either. I think there is a decent market for good free site designers to create them for sponsor programs. We have only had our hosted free sites active for a short time.

I said you guys could link to those 3 sites, but I needed to change the URL a bit. I checked stats before doing so, and saw that no one had linked them yet. Anyway, I realized that I needed to put them in an amateur-upskirts folder so I could keep them all in order when I start my other paysites soon. If anyone had those 3 in their update que just add "amateur-upskirts" between the domain, and site folder, or just wait a day or two.

I'll be updating the marketing page in the next couple days, and will post in this thread so people can get them linked up.
