Do you promote Chaturbate?
Do you know/understand the new GDPR compliance notice?
I don't get it. |
No clue

This is the message that comes up at the top of the aff page.
"In compliance with GDPR regulations, we will soon discontinue affiliate cookie tracking upon ad load, and to better align with such regulations we will instead measure upon ad engagement. Therefore the 'Unique Hits' column in your stats page will be 'Engaged Hits'." A bit concerned since new browser updates are not always happy with some of the heavy loads the browsers claim the ads are putting on the page so they just block it. Have you guys had luck with other programs? Are they all headed this way? |
I just read the GDPR regulations again and a little confused by why the regulation would affect cookie tracking unless (insert any company) are tracking everywhere that ip/person visits online versus whether or not that ip/person comes back to that company.
I've seen the same message and not sure if this will be good or bad for myself. |
I checked the zoo and they're at a loss as well.
Some interesting posts on lack of new registrations, complaints then registrations started again. For that person. I think that is probably a coincidence. For us comms have been down for a while. Still getting payouts but not as good as last year. I'm going to check on gdpr compliance requirements again. Not being in the uk or eu I was not sure how much to be concerned about it. Uniques are down a little bit. |
Here's the official doc on it - What is GDPR. Yeah, it is the typical mumbo-jumbo, but it gels down to some simple ideas. If the concern is great, I would suggest getting with an attorney that works with the EU to be safe.
Discontinuing the affiliate cookie tracking - I, as a visitor from the EU, did not give you permission to track me unless you have one of those cookie warning notices up. Now the paysite may have them, but your site did not. The idea behind the GDPR is to protect the privacy of your visitors. How worried? Google along with the browsers have been dealing with this for quite a while, so it should not be a shock to them. I don't see any real concerns. I think stats are down due more to the US elections and other world events more than anything else. LOTS of uncertainty out there right now, and paying for porn is probably not among them. |

A former UN prosecutor has prepared a Bill of Impeachment, supposedly, for Biden. Biden's administration is a disgrace. As will the next one be. I hope we are all still here next year. |
