Link Admin Question...

I'm using Link Admin on http://www.adult-sex-sites.net. When I originally set it up, I didn't make any sub-categories... Now I'm setting up 'free sites' and 'pay sites' categories. Is there an easy way to move all my current links into the 'free site' category???

Right now I'm doing it one by one, but I have over 9,000 links|sad| and my fingers are beginning to hurt...

As far as I know.. nopez :(
For that money they could have included that feature. *hint* |couch|

You might be able to do it with a search & replace on the database file - add the sub categories, then download & save a copy of the data.AcceptedLinks.txt incase you fuck it up :) Then look for the one you just added & see how it's different from the rest of them - you might be able to search for the category (let's say amateur) & then replace it with:
amateur free

If you do it in TextPad, it'll work by insering a strange character where the tab would be (it looks like a rectangle with a longer height)

Of course, do 2 or 3 1st, then upload the new copy & see how it looks before you spend all day just to find out my idea sucked :D

Thanks Greenguy... I tried your suggestion, but when I uploaded the data.AcceptedLinks.txt file, the sub-category was not added, AND I get this message when trying to review submitted sites:

Error!
Reviewing is not possible because the following files are not writable:
/.2/adult-sex-sites.net/cgi-bin/us/linkadmin/data/data.AcceptedLinks.txt

I did take your advice and make a backup copy - this isn't the first thing I've fucked up in my life :)

That error has something with the permissions (so it might have worked)

Let me find MrMaryLou....... :D

Hey I thought you said I couldn't do it? hehe

Pusher, I'm in the same boat. Didn't set up subcats at first and now have them.

Mr MaryLou and Greenguy... MANY THANKS |shake|

What you suggested worked, after changing the file permissions to 666. One additional thing that I discovered...after adding the and 'free', to each line, I had to remove the next so all the remaining data was in the right place...

I really appreciate your help - Thanks Again :)
