Received this email in regards to EdgeCash

"Hi,
Just to inform you that edgecash is illegally using my pictures and video.
I am the photographer and the only owner of copyright.
I am in contact now with ccbill to close down this site and will
take legal steps against edgecash and all people using or promoting my
material.
Best regards"

Don't know if that is true, but I removed my link to their webmaster program just in case.

Anyone know anything about this or receive this email? I assume I received it because my site appears in google when searching for edgecash.

Looks like there might have been some truth to it. This is their site:

http://www.amateurvoyage.com/

Oh well.

An interesting discovery. Thanks for your report.

You gotta love a sponsor that temporarily closes their site, yet put up all kinds of links that the webmaster won't get paid on |banghead|

It sucks that the program shut down and is using non trackable links but...a few years back, Steve Easton from APIC (The most unprofessional person I have met), send affidavits to my cc processor, host and their entire membership list. He claimed that I had stolen pictures I was using. I tried writing to him, calling him and all he would say was, I will not talk to a thief. I really don't believe I have to tell you that none of the content on my sites was stolen. But, my host at the time...forced me to shut down the sites until it was cleared up. It was kind of difficult to clear it up since Easton would not take my calls nor emails. Nor did he give example of these stolen pictures. He just said the sites were full of them. I had over a million pictures at the time. I ended up having to ask all my content providers to send faxes to my host and cc processor letting them know that I was the rightful owner. Eastons APIC members also told him that I was far from being a theif.

Anyway...I know this has nothing to do with this thread but, since my experience, I never take one person claiming that someone is using stolen content as gospel. One of the problems is that a lot of hosts do.

Yes, I should mention that I never received any confirmation that Edgecash was using stolen images. They could very well be in the same situation that you were.

Hopefully it is just a misunderstanding and they get things worked out.

That speaks volumes to me. |lightsabe

I just heard from another person that received this same email that the owner of the site said this is a partnership dispute... one partner decides to leave and then claims he has copyright on all images that he shot for the site.

Again, this is not confirmed.

That's always the trouble with partnerships I guess.
