Why ban the letter "n" ?

there seems to be a lot of confusion in this thread.

i'm not exactly sure which script/site CelticTiger is referring too when he described this error.. but i think what Greenguy said was the answer.. they're banning the use of 'n' by itself as a replacement for word 'and'.

so, for example, "a nice set of cock n balls" would be banned, but "a nice set of cock and balls" would be acceptable.

I have to mention one related pet hate of mine. Most sites will not allow the word "teen" in a description. And yet 99% of these same sites allow "girl". There are other similar instances, but teen and girl about sums up the situation.

Actually, the "teen" problem comes from Visa I believe, stating that sites that use the word "teen" can not process CC's - even if you use "legal teens" they still say no.

That explains it, but I have to say most of these half-ass tgps wont be accepting CCs in the near future. :)

GG, can you expand on this a bit. I understand the problem with the word "teen" meaning 13 years of age upto 19. I might have missed something when it comes to Visa as with Teensexcess.com.

I have no 1st hand experoence, but I know of 2 companies that had to pull their dkomains that had the word "teen" in them due to the CC processor no longer allowing that term.

You might want to be on the safe side & ask CCBill if that domain is ok :)

Here's what I was told. Having "teen" as part of the domain name is acceptable. As has been discussed here many times, using the word "young teens" or anything that would imply underaged, is a problem and would cause them to stop processing cc's for the site.
