Recips?
 

1. How many recips per free site? I use to do about 5, is that ok?

2. Everyone has different recip buttons/html, everything from tiny to HUGE, so would there be alot of yelling, screaming and declining if I made a textlink for each and every one to make it not only fair, but also better looking.
Index page kept VERY clean, and the recips in big nice font above ENTER link.

your thoughts?

depends on that, what fit to your index page.
Someone can put 10 and it looks fine and other can put 5 and it looks very shitty

I use text recips for that reason, to keep it more fair. If you do it well, you can have up to 12 recips and still look good.

Define "HUGE"

well, HUGE might have been wrong word, but say one linklist require a text link lik "Free Porn" while the recip next to it is a big fancy colorful html table with alot of text and links in it....not fair.

Most of the recip tables I see these days are around 200x60 or 70 - of course these's also one that are 150x100 or so - I usually just pick & choose where to put them to make things look even & adjust some of them a few pixels to achieve that perfect look - LOL
