Where is the best place to send hotlinkers???

I send them to a page full of sponsor sites :) It looks, to them, like a mini-LL |jester|

Yeah, I just got hit by over 50,000 Korean hotlink hits yesterday. You know where I would like to send them:)

I need to investigate how much this is effecting me.

Personally I like to lock them in a room for a month with their eyes held open like in Clockwork Orange and make them watch Barbra Streisand movies.

Actually I just send them to the same place that I send my 404 traffic to which is just a page of links with no consoles or anything bad. Not all the traffic that goes to your hotlinker page is really hotlinker traffic. Reviewers end up their sometimes there so do surfers be mistake.

Hmm maybe I should start sending hotlinkers to a more productive page... right now im sending them to *warning* http://www.tubgirl.com

If it's regular traffic - np - they get a mini LL page, all text.
If it's a chat board? - well, they get to restart.. |jester|

How do you guys redirect some one that is just hot linking your images?

Easy. Put this in your image folder:

AuthUserFile /dev/null
AuthGroupFile /dev/null

RewriteEngine On

RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.yourdomain.com.* [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://yourdomain.com.* [NC]

RewriteRule /* http://www.whereyouwanttoredirect.com/anypage.html [R,L]

It saves the folder where you put it and every folder inside it.

EDIT: You must save it as .htaccess. Use notepad and write the saving file name as ".htaccess". No .txt or .html or nothing. Then upload. You should see that file in your FTP as .htaccess

EDIT MORE: Hmmm...I'm not good in this. Remember that you must have this " in file name. So write ".htaccess" not .htaccess

EDIT EVEN MORE: Use this .htaccess only in folders that have images and graphics. If you put in folder that have HTML pages you're images and graphics won't show.
