Needing a root canal sucks
 

I put off in getting a tooth fixed for like, oh- I dunno...a year.

Yeah. Stupid. But it didn't hurt unless I got food stuck in it.

Having had a root canal in 2001, you'd think I'd be a wee bit smarter. Nope.

If it doesn't cause severe pain all the time it can wait.

Standing in line at the bank I was doing my tongue suction on the bad tooth by now a habit to make sure no food was inside the area. WHAM!

I like sucked out and exposed a nerve- nearly had a hissy fit in line. Felt like a live electric wire was jammed into my jaw and each heartbeat made me want to stop my heart.

Nothing gets your attention like that. The world around you can be exploding and all you can think is this pain needs to go away.

Luckily, it did. But now it's really easy to expose that nerve and I needed to make a late night run to CVS for Anbesol.

In my research I learned the only active ingrediant is benzocaine which is true of all those topical numbing gels, sprays and liquids.

I stumbled across a page where a women used it in her ass before getting reamed there. I wonder if chicks use this often in porn? Only downside it unless the dude wears a condom his dick will get numb too.

I learned some condoms that claim to make you 'last longer' use benzocaine. LOL.

I learned what Anbesol considers 'gel' is not very gel like.

I fookin' squeezed out like 1/4 tube my 1st use trying to inject it into my upper bad tooth only. It dripped all over.

But it works. I see a dentist Friday. Until then Anbesol is my bestest friend in the universe. :D

PM stuff? Which product is that?

It's like anbesol, I forget the brand name, it might _be_ anbesol, but it will be right there with all the other benzocaine and fucked up teeth products. It's a white paste that kinda sticks in place. It's good stuff. The PM stands for nighttime, because it lasts long enough to let you sleep.

If you want the best bargain, get the liquid in the little glass bottle, and use it with q-tips. That's also the fastest relief. But if you get too much on at once, it can set your heart pounding. (That will happen if you put on too much of any of those things.)

OK thanks. Luckily, I'm not in pain all the time.

Make sure you get knocked out with gas. I had that done like back in 84 and man the friggen pain. The novacane wore off. I could feel the dentest using those little finger twists drills they use to deaden the nerves. Makes me cringe just thinking about it.

Actually, they've come a long way in root canals even in the past few years. The tooth is rarely pulled and it's not so much different than a regular cavity.

When I had one done in 2001, I expected a horror.

It really wasn't so bad. I was soar the day after, but my old tooth is still there.
