Verisign getting sued. Again.

We all saw this one coming :)

I hope they lose!

Thank God...I thought Verisign was actually going to get away with it.

Cleo 2003-09-19 06:21 PM

There has been outrage on just about ever place I've read about this.

As soon as the patch for BIND comes out this should help a lot.

I was hoping ICANN would pull their bloody authority. and really make em hurt....|angry|

That probably means that the lawsuit will drag on past the renewal for ICANN and they wont be able to get rid of the jerks while they're in litigation - wouldnt surprise me if they didnt anticipate it and do it for that reason

DangerDave 2003-09-19 09:50 PM

|angry| that sounds like Verisign BS Linkster.:(

What's up with ICANN anyway? They said they knew about this and didn't authorize it yet. It was the same with WLS (waiting list). They didn't negotiate it yet but Verisign already set a date for its release. Seems to me ICANN has little authority over Verisign or doesn't want to take serious actions. Whatever it is it's BS.

Linkster 2003-09-20 07:30 AM

DDave..yep...sounds just like the stunts they've pulled before :(

Snowone 2003-09-21 01:08 PM

Icann has requested netsol to stop.

It's now Sept, 22nd and Verisigns BS is still in operation. |angry|

RawAlex 2003-09-22 10:38 AM

I am sure that this will be in place until ordered turned off by a judge.

I hope that ICANN orders Verisign to be billed the registration fee for all unused domain names (anything not registered)... at $6 a piece, Verisign would run out of money VERY VERY VERY quickly....

Just take the number of active .com's and subtract that from the possible, and then bill them.

Fuckers would be out of business in an hour.

Alex

McSpike 2003-09-22 02:58 PM

hahaha, RawAlex, I'd like to see that too! |bananna| if only they went out of biz. They are a pain. I wish their customers would realize that too. I wonder who are the idiots that still register with them?

Verisign tried to pull a fast one. I'm glad other registrars are taking action.
