Advice from the LL experts
 

Hi all,

This is aimed at the various Link List owners that read this.

As some of you may know I bought Foxy's Sexclearing House last year, but aside from cleaning up the design and installing an actual link list script, I have not really done much with the site.

I am now preparing to push the site properly, before I do I have a few questions.

First of all the site has always been known as Foxy's Sexclearing House, yet the domain is just Sexclearinghouse.com and obviously I am not Foxy. Do you think it will hurt to change the name to just The Sex Clearing House (losing the Foxy bit) ??

Currently the site has a Google PR5, would any of you other LL owners be interested in swapping hard links ?
Where on the site are you most interested in having links ?
Do you prefer to swap text links or buttons ?

I guess thats enough questions for now, I'm going to go back to my script and continue playing with the code to implement some more new features.

Unless you'r getting a lot of SE hits daily for the term Foxys I don't see how it would hurt.

I do get SE hits for various terms with Foxy in, but I figure I can leave that in the meta tags etc.

The site log is a graphic and I can always make the alt tags include Foxy too.

I think I'll go ahead with that part of the plan.

Put something like this on your page (logo, title tag, in your meta tags). Sex clearing House - Formerly known as Foxy's Clearing House. Name branding is is an important thing in this bizz.

But it won't effect your Google PR as far as I know.
And yes I would be interested in a hard linktrade :)

I know how important branding is, coming from the corporate world before I entered this business. In fact I have my own corporate ID document which I originally intended to use for all my sites.... I ended up not using it for various reasons but think I may re-visit that side of my original business plan.

I was planning on making an industry wide announcement about the change of name once all the pieces were in place. I may just follow your suggestion too, I can always remove the small tagline "formerly...." after say 6 months... I doubt anyone will notice and it will be about a year since I took over and changed the original design anyway.

As for hardlink trades I don't have a button yet but you can always use a text link. Contact me on icq 4292151.

True, but I personally think the term Foxy's gives a personal touch to the site. I like it. :)

Hmmm... that was why I kept the name till now... but I think its time to create my own identity.

Pervy I use to review for tc back in the day and that site was know for pornstar stuff more than anything else not sure if that still holds true now but thats what it was known for :)

Quick question for you.... what does a reviewer typically get for doing the job ?

That depends on allot of factors there is real known standard so pay cash some pay in traffic just depends sorry cant be much help but there is many ways of doing it :)

I see. I don't actually need a reviewer (yet) so I guess I can wait to worry about that ;-)

I am interested in finding someone to write descriptions and submit sites to my site if you know of anyone.

How is the traffic? I used to submit to FSC and do really good. Looking to add some more LL to my list of sites to submit too!

I'll be honest, by the time I actually acquired the site the traffic was well down, however it has remained at the same level since then. My stats show an average of 1500 uniques a day.

Obviously this is something I am keen to improve on.

Why not go for Pervy's Sex Clearing House?

I would recommend text links rather than buttons, much better for se purposes.

Pervy's Sex Clearing House sound good, I recomend text links (I can trade links if you are interested)

Also, I guess you should place links at category pages to other categories, and remove these nasty 'cgi-bin/links/jump.cgi?ID=xxx' links.

I will gladly submit free sites but some rules and recips would be helpfull
