WTF? Do the mods read the threadfs here?

So, TJ Pat asked for leased Latina content here - so I provide a link to some Latina content providers - There are 4 content providers that come up with that search, and 2 of them offer leased content.

I also provided a link to Latina sets and 4 out of 9 of the sets are leased content.

So what exactly is the problem? You don't allow business to be conducted here or something?

Surfn 2004-07-06 10:43 PM

We read all the threads here. We don't allow people to use boardtracker (or equivalent) to come here and just spam constantly.

66 posts in 10 months . . . yeah, I must be spamming constantly . . . so, you are hoping that someone might happen along to answer the questions your members have?

Surfn 2004-07-06 10:50 PM

You want to do business here buy ad space. You don't contribute anything to this board that I've seen.

That's funny, I just did a search to see what threads I have participated in, and it seems that I have been involved in several different topics, primarily on the newbie board discussing AVS.

Now granted, I am going to have a tendancy to discuss the things I know, but if you would prefer I start talking about stuff I know nothing about, just say the word.

Like I said, I prefer to stick to topics I know something about as I was always under the impression this was a business board

Greenguy 2004-07-06 11:11 PM

I'm gonna piss a lot of people off with this one & say that we, as a board, were in the wrong this time.

If that is what was posted, then it should have been allowed. It was a judgement call - one that I might have made myself knowing the history of how some people post (not you personally baddog)

We are also a tad bit tight with our rules - but then again, people like that :D

BUT.....aside from myself assuming that thread was gonna turn into a spam fest & aside from the other posts to that thread, I will say one thing - of your 66 posts, 15 posts were to content threads where you push your site & 9 posts were in Products & Services, so our Mods were in the ballpark with 35% of your posts being borderline.

TijuanaPat - check out the links baddog posted above :)

Quick on the ole delete trigger, eh Dave?

First off, thank you for acknowledging that my response was relative. I think you will find that when I post about CS, it is because someone is seeking content that CS clients can provide them.

If someone asks about AVS, yes, I am going to suggest my AVS, what is wrong with that? It is okay if I have one of my affiliates do it, but I can't do it? What if I use one of my affiliates referral ID, would it be okay then? This is a serious question because I want to know if I am allowed to post here or not.

jennym 2004-07-06 11:21 PM

Maybe it's just me. If someone starts a thread requesting content, then who better to post than a content provider. If someone asks about LL, then all us LL owners are the ones to answer....what's the diff? I understand you don't want everyone under the sun following board tracker to come in and spam, but baddog does seem to try to help. Yes it is in content and AVS threads.....but that is what he knows!!!

And, for the record, I don't know baddog at all.

Greenguy 2004-07-06 11:23 PM

You weren't on my radar before today anyway - and you're not really on it now - LOL - so don't worry too much about your posts.

Like I said before, we sometimes jump the gun because of past problems (not with you personally)

We just ask that everyone post on topic :)

Greeny's board Greeny's rules.. I can live with that...

[opinion]
Baddog, I still think your posts are spam.

"boardtracker" etc inform you there is a content thread and boom there you are.

If you were being so helpful and business-like then you could just link to the content providers but no you always spam your own sites.

Your input here as Surfn said is minimal... except when pushing something you own..

The advantage to CS over going directly to the providers is that they can shop without have to register with the provider. Believe it or not, a lot of people like that.

People also like being able to go to one site where they can visit multiple providers at once.

We don't charge to webmaster anything, we don't collect a commission on sales, we are just making the buyers life a little easier. Maybe you don't shop for content so can't appreciate the service we provide, but I talk to enough people that I know you are in the minority.

I for one am glad to see this turn of events here.

I'll be totally honest with you, I avoid this board sometimes because I am in the webmaster services business, but I'm still a webmaster, just like the rest of you. You sell to surfers, and I sell to webmasters who sell to surfers. We all sell something to someone.

If it weren't for Content providers, Hosting Companies, Designers, Programmers, Webmaster Resources, and others who provide services, it'd be pretty hard for a webmaster to have any type of business at all.

Thanks to baddog for standing up for all of us here, he had the guts to stick his neck out and say what I was thinking but was afraid to post

Not a problem, my neck has built up a callous from resting on the chopping block so often ;)

WoW did I cause this?
I don't know sqwat about board trackers
I do know that I spent hours and hours looking for leased Latina content starting first with GGandJ resources before I posted that thread.
I also know that I'll be using two of the content providers that I got off of Bad Dogs Site, so his posting sure wasn't spam to me.
Bad Dog and I went a few rounds on another board over the health risks of Tijuana Whores (Ya either love um or ya don't. In Bad Dog's case he don't).
I met Bad Dog at Cybernet Expo and talked to him several times, even though we don't see eye to eye on the girls south of the border he was very friendly and was one of a hand full of webmasters that made me feel
Like I belonged there and was welcomed to the fold. (Thanx Bad Dog)
So in the words of Rodney King "can't we all just get along".

Ramster 2004-07-07 10:10 AM

If someone spams their crap AND it's relative to what the poster is asking for, who cares? Let them post it IF it's relative. That's my 2cents!

lol.... me either. What I do know is that a webmaster, on a webmaster board, should be able to ask other webmasters for something. Other webmasters who provide that "something" should be able to offer it up.

I don't know, maybe posts like that are better suited to a different forum? Maybe the announcement forum or something? A person's board tracker would still alert them just the same, wouldn't it?

And Baddog..... you got a problem with babes south of the border?? |club|

"crap" is such a strong word.

lol

Good point though. I always think someone is spamming if they jump onto a thread about one thing and post something along the lines of.....

"Hey, while you're looking to buy content, you should check out my design site, I'm the best designer this side of Dick Cheney's ass! bla bla bla click here bla bla bla"

Now THAT is what I call spamming.

I missed this whole thing but, "Yeah, what he said" :)
When I look at a thread like this I take a look at the replies. If the person who posts links to their services, it's OK. But, for instance...I am looking for Italian "looking" women content. So, if someone came along and said, "we have it, take a look here". And there was not any Italian "looking" women, I would consider it spam.

There are also other factors I look at. Such as the person's past posts. If it looks like the only reason for posting information is for their own gain, relevant or not....I would move the spam.
