Cpanel - Worth installing?

I recently received an email from one of my web hosts where I have two dedicated servers. For a few dollars extra per month they offered to install Cpanel on both my servers. Does anyone have any experience using the cpanel? Is this a tool worth getting? I have a number of customized scripts and I've heard that sometimes Cpanel can create problems with scripts. All opinions appreciated.

It's worth it if you want to be able to manage the servers yourself, if it's managed anyway that's up to you.

Are you sure? Who told you that?

I'm using version 9.4.1-STABLE-65. I'm very satisfied with it.

I'm kind of partial to Webmin and SSH myself.

I've think I'll have Cpanel loaded on one of my servers for a test period to see if their are any problems with my scripts. I'm basically concerned with script compatibility and if they are any security issues created by having that product installed. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Note that once cPanel is installed you can't just remove it that easy, in fact cPanel needs a clean OS install to install so be sure to ask if your host is willing to format it and put it back on the way you have it now IF you decide to get rid of it again.

Thanks! I'll clarify it with my host. So from your knowledge and experience the current version of Cpanel doesn't have any security issues or major compatibility problems with certain types of scripts?
