Ignorance Is Bliss

Okay. I'm new. Does that work for or against me?

Have spent some time looking at what there is on the 'adult' net before getting started, and visited most of the sites. The Hun, Richard's Realm, Cleo's Links, and about 10,000 others

Questions are: Who are these people? How do I know they are up-front? Who can I get straight trades, answers and submissions from? Does 'big name' site equal big honesty?

I'm sure that there are some good [some not so good] sites, and some who look down on new people and their sites; So where do I start? After all - who are you?

Cleo, sure you're a pure looker in real life :) Know I'll be a right 'hacket' old boot by the time I'm 30, but will still have a sweet heart too

What I mean is are all the big guys n gals sites all that they seem? Are you all 'famous' because you're good, or some crooked? How do you tell the difference?

Met some really nice people this week, but any young person can tell you a weirdo would cover their real ID. Just want to know how you guys on the board keep it 'clean' as in knowing who is who

I've been around a long time, work hard, and I'm honest so I've been successful.

Hang around the boards, go to the shows, get to know everyone.

In this business reputation, like in any business, is everything.

That's a good recipe: Hard work and honesty equals reputation equals success. Something to aspire to - and so I dream :)

Thanks Cleo

A good memory doesn't hurt either ;)

Yeh, Surfn, I'll try to remember that |jester| - bless you

I'm pretty new too. I think it's a big advantage to take the time and effort to read this message board and skim a few others once in a while.

If someone does a naughty thing it will spread like wild fire across the adult webmaster boards.

The sites you mentioned dont need to prove themselves. Many have been online since '95-'97. You and I are the ones who need to prove ourselves. :D

In fact, many of the owners of those sites will help out an average free site builder here on the board.

Have fun! :)

Alphawolf,

You're dead right. WE have to prove ourselves

I suppose that with a hundred new WMs a week [is it more?] only the best, most honest and reputable will ever survive

Hope to among those select few in the years to come :)

I'm honest! Really I am :)

But then again... I am no big shot. So I just stick to big tits :D

But a really good hint would be to look at the names of those people who have made a significant amount of posts on this board for example. You can be reasonably sure that no crook would (be allowed to) hang around here to make 1000+ posts :)

This question brings up a question of my own. Let's say you HAVE in fact been burnt by a less than honest webmaster, most board have rules about bringing beef out into the open.

How do you handle smoking out a rat? I am new to most of the webmaster hangouts but not so new to the market so I guess I can say that it irks me to the 10th power that I let another webmaster get over on me.

And to go back to what Hazel asked is how do you know about the "big guys"? because from my perspective in my niche the person I had dealings with appeared to be on the up and up which was why I trusted him in the first place. Shame on me. |angry|

BTW... I hope no one takes it that I am questioning any of the heavy hitters mentioned on this thread or who post on this board, just the particular person I resent.
