google's last update - did it happen?
 

I noticed some changes in my keywords at the end of last week but they were very minor, like only moving by a couple of positions. Has anyone noticed any significant changes yet? It really did look like the next big update was coming last Friday but still nothing really.

Just mainly wondering if the update is still coming or if this minor change is all we get this time.

I think it is still coming - heck they may leak out some info about a update to throw people off and then sneak one in..

Are Google's backward links totally messed up or what?

It seems to be showing PR2 backlinks ok, but not PR4s or PR5s??

Maybe it's an isolated incident, but I think there's something very wrong going on.

Yes, the backlinks thing is very peculiar these days.

The fact that so many good 4+ backlinks are missing leads me to think they started a bigger, more ambitious pr update, but stopped partway thru.

I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

googleguy has stated on webmasterworld.com (sorry i dont know the exact thread) that they will show backlinks at random instead of the highest pr links.

but a pr update will happen the next days, too, i guess, the toolbar went crazy last night.

Aaaah, those tricky boys at google. Just one good idea after another. This oughta teach those naughty SEOs a thing or two, and save some processor time to boot, you betcha.

I'm rooting for msn and yahoo to do a little google butt kicking in this next year.

Noticed it happened about 4 days ago according to my stats - big jump in referrals :)

Only big change I see right now is that keyword stemming isnt happening anymore
Used to be if you searched for singular and plural of a word you would get the same results - that dissapeared over the last few days - its only been around for 6 months that I remember but it was nice

Yesterday I was bummed when I saw that I had moved to number 18 for one of the search terms that I do well with, but today I see that I'm back at the number four spot which is where I'm usually at for this term WTF?
