AdWords Help

I was wondering if anyone here had experience with AdWords. I signed up for an acct yesterday, created an add, paid the $5, setup the minimum per day and in the admin it says Campaign is Active, yet there have been no impressions or anything. Do you have to wait for your account to be approved when you submit your first ad or anything?

Depending on some keywords you may have used Adwords might have flagged your campaign for review....this can take anywhere from a day or two to two or three weeks to be approved. I had one take over three weeks before it was approved. This is fairly common for adult oriented campaigns.

ditto on what CelticTiger said.. they messed me up one time for two weeks.. and that was way after i had a ad running with approved words..

So if I create an add with different keywords will that one maybe go in the system real time? or is my whole account flagged now and pending?

andy the way it works when i started is when you first start your account it should start, mine did and they have ad people,so they say review the ad and if theres something they dont like its pulled and a email will sometimes follow with the reason and a recomend fix.. also if your daily budget isnt high enough it wont start either..

best thing to do is read there help section and dont use the word 'best' in your ads..

and also i mailed there help techs for problems and they sometimes have to approve certain keywords by hand to get it running..

If you want to get your ads showing today, create a new campaign and choose a few select keywords that you think won't get flagged. Then once you know they being shown add in some more.

It's tough to know which are the ones that will set off alarm bells....I know gay and anal related campaigns always end up being flagged for me. Words like sex and porn shouldn't - unless maybe they are in the actual ad. It's touch and go sometimes.

I just created another campaign with adwords, used non risque words and it still didnt activate. WTF is up with this. It promotes 5 minutes and your ad is up on their site and then it doesnt work, starting to piss me off after 2 days.

I had that happen - Just email them and they will get back with you.. There filter caught it again..

It's funny you have this topic. I went to do some PPC last night from a paused campaign around 8PM EST. By 10PM there were zero impressions and zero clicks.

I found this thread:

had same problem! adwords is a pain in the ass. they will approve u pretty quick if you email support, but everytime you update your ad it has to be reapproved. add to the fact i am still part-time and i come home and my ad is off because of to low of a click-thru rate! :( and since i wasnt trying to buy traffic i wanted non-free keywords it really pissed me off, i could have written an ad that would get killer traffic and lost money but i was selling porn not giving it away, if i just wanted traffic i could have bought traffic or got it free from my traffic guy. the whole experience made me fustrated and pissed off, if my ctr was to low for them then they could have charged me more to stay at that level and i would have decided if it would have worked but to just cut me off was a pain in the ass. adwords must work for some but for porn i really doubt the ROI would work for most. it was very upsetting for me since i had a great plan that would have worked. does anyone know about buying spots on yahoo??? i know it is monthly and not PPC any advise maybe i will try that. i really want to get my www.porndollarstore.com off the ground converts great and i dont want much traffic just quality traffic.
