I feel like a total pussy doing this. I never (hardly) aire my personal life online. I never ask for help. But I do believe positive thoughts and good wishes are helpful.

I have an infection in my face, caused by a tooth that will be pulled on Monday. It's causing the whole left side of my face to swell (Lucky I'm so handsome to start with, or else I'd be a horror show now). I've been released from hospital, but I'm told I need to ring an ambulance should my eye close, my mouth stop working. The worst case scenario is I go into a coma, get paralysed in my face, be unable to breath if it spreads under my chin and so choke me.

I'm taking amoxycillin capsules to hopefully get rid of this swelling. Touch wood, more than likely, I'm going to be fine when monday comes and they can remove my tooth.

It's mainly the choking and the coma that has me scared. So, as I said, saying all this on GG&J really isn't like me, but any good thoughts will be more than appreciated. I'm not looking for sympathy or anything. You don't even have to say anything here. Just a positive thought will be really cool.

Yuck, I had some similar issues last year, but the meds took care of it.

I know EXACTLY what you're going through! It's happened to me to many times to list! I went to Dr.'s and they said it was a dental problem. Dentist would say it was a sinus infection. Blah! Anyway, give your antibiotics about 3-4 days to work and you should be feeling much better. I hope they gave you some pain pills. It hurts like hell. :-(

The swelling is due to the feelings of guilt you have developed over moving to Southern France while some of us are mired in Upstate NY. But seriously, I wish you good health.

Funny you have this.

Couple days after my root canal last week the tooth area healed but above the gum in my cheek became very inflammed and sensitive.

It was just below my eye socket and felt like a small marble in my cheek.

Called the dentist and described it.

They gave me 500mg penicillin 4x/day for 7 days.

Unlike other infections it took several days for things to start getting better like ladydesigner mentioned.

It's about 80% better now and I go back to complete the root canal tomorrow.

Take your medicine and let time heal. Not much choice. |thumb

Tooth aches suck. When they get infected like its like a face ache :)

The swelling can cause your ear and other teeth to hurt plus give you a major headache.

But like every one has said the antibiotics should do the trick.

Hope they fix that one properly! Good luck with it:)

Hope you fight that infection soon. A former co-worker and friend of mine had something similar, the right side of her face looked like she had a softball in her mouth, she was in soo much pain. Infections suck. Feel better |waves|

Kristin with an infection that bad they have stronger antibiotics than that - sometimes we have to question the doctors pick of pills.. And I hope your ok dude.. |buddy|

What an odd coincidence! My cat was just put on amoxycillin yesterday for some sort of virul infection. He lost his 'meow'. Hope you haven't lost yours.|cat

Hope you're getting better.

I remember when I had bad tooth pulled and the dentist gave me some pill and I slept for 24 hours straight after I had taken it. Hopefully he’s just exhausted.
