Just Axed All Free Email Membership Programs
I just cut my traffic to all of the "Get a free memebership to an adult site with you email address" thingers, because:
1. They are obviouly shaving the piss out of you. 2. You surfers get spammed to death if they join, hence loss of bookmarks. 3. Half of those programs (I'm not naming any names) have problems sending checks. I'm not saying any names, but if you check the Term and Conditions of a "certian" program it basicly says if you metion the fact you have not been paid on any of the boards that you would be in violation - then they have a "reason" not to pay you. You know what they say, if it soound too good to be true - it probably is...lol. Money for nothing and memberships for free... |
Over exposed and anyone who has joined one of those knows it sucks ass inside anyway. As opposed to anyone who joined a regular porn site is apt to join another one again some day.

Yea, ratios are dropping steadily every week with the 2 im using, so we shall see how long they survive on my sponser list |rasta|

I did a few tests and pretty quickly found I was always making more money selling persignups off of equivalent sell spaces.
So selling emails is pretty much giving money away. Not to mention giving the spammers, er, excuse me, the opt-in spammers, a chance to get the $35 you missed out on. But some people seem to think they are great. Maybe they used to be great. Probably for some traffic they still work ok. It still seems crazy to accept $1.50 and give away the chance to make the bigger sale. |
I tried a couple of them for 3 months each. And according to my results I was being shaved way too much. That ended that. I think if they were properly done they could be money makers, but not what they are doing with them now. |pissed| |rasta|

I dont like free email programs either.
|
During (your = north) summer I had heaps of people submitting galleries advertising these programs - something I can't understand at all!
I have a few simple one-line text links for free email programs going to a text-only fpa (with a gentle spam warning: if your boss or your wife and kids have access to your email you might want to get a free email account from a site like yahoo, excite, or email.com!) and don't take much notice if/how they perform... Just a few extra bucks. |
I agree with the people that say they are past their time. The surfers were falling for it more when that model first came out.
|
I've never used any of those programs. For $1.5 I have to make a lot of sales (24 to be exact) to make up for one per signup sale. No matter how I twist and morph the math on that it just doesn't add up to profit for me |crazy|
|
Like Jan I never used em either..
Sounded too good to be true to me.. |lightsabe |
last ditch sale
I haven't used the free membership spam, err email programs yet. Reading this thread makes me wonder..
I wouldn't use email progs on a premium or even regular ad spot. But what about the surfer's you've filtered down to being a non-sale otherwise? or chinese traffic? |
I never made much from email sponsors so instead of sending them there I send them to http://AdultEarners.com they do mailers with your refcode in it except for once a month or so where they send their own refcodes for their trouble.
Its easier than setting up a mailing list of my own and I donīt have the problem with spam complaints. I just started to use them so I canīt say anything about the results yet but I heard a lot of good about them. Adult Earners with my refcode |
I absolutly killed with FEB when it first came out and also did very good with FTC and always got paid but the time of the Free E-mailer is over. Surfers are getting to damn smart...bastards

The fact that they dont fall for some of the same shit that they used to, they have learned that the free e-mail programs are just a spam bomb so they dont signup |
It's like anything, the surfers will figure out sooner or later if they are getting value or not.
Replace the free ones with the $10 things, and try again. There is a window on those right now. Alex |

I am with Keyser Soze, Adult Earners is a great way to collect email addresses. And it looks like they are all past their troublesome growth stages, they have been pretty solid for a while now.
cheers, Luke |
RawAlex speaks wise words :-)
There's still a place for the e-mail proggies in the ad mix, but like everything, when they're new they're very hot and then they subside back to what might be called a 'normal' level. |
