Hosting Dilema

Ok I most likely misspelled dilema!

Since I finally have my first site up, I'm in need of some solid hosting. I'll have about 10 sites - 5 of which are tgp's plus I plan on submitting galleries so I'm looking for something with a decent bandwidth situation.

Preferaby, I'd like a dedicated server but I'm open to whatever will work.

I'm posting here because after reading this board for a while (and recieving the warm welcome from everyone) I figure you guys & gals would help get me on the right path.

Your help (as always) is most gracious;y appreciated :-)

Abbiie

It looks like most hosting deals are now sort of one-off-bargains... This was definitely my experience when I got my second deal with Phatservers (where this board was hosted until recently - ggj moved because the guy supporting their special deal moved - as far as I understood).

So check out as many pricing options as you can find, and then approach a company with good reputation and ask for a price match. I believe low-volume dedicated is now between $90 and $120 per Mbps (on an even load that's ~300-320 gigs)...

Thanks for the reply GeorgeTH so would you recommend Phatservers?

"dilemma" !
go write it on the blackboard 1000 times ;)

You should be able to do a bit lower than 90/mbit, however, make sure that your bandwidth is multihomed, and if you go with virtual hosting, make sure that the servers are not overloaded. Ask for a trial account, if the host wont give it to you they might have something to hide. Also, ask for their money-back policy, uptime guarentee and support setup.
The hostingmarket is a bitch these days, so - as a buyer - you can be real demanding |lightsabe
Good for you ;)

Anyway - we would be happy to help you get started.
You might not need a dedicated account, but if you do, take a look at www.10mbs.com - we as the url implies we are best at 10mbit capped servers. Take a look at:
www.10mbs.com/servers/ <- our server deals

www.Youza.com is our virtual host, and there you can find quite a nice bunch of hosting deals deals:

www.youza.com/89/ <- 300gb/$89/month (special offer)
www.youza.com/features/ <- our general hostingplans starting at $3/month

If you have any questions about our service, or just general hosting questions feel free to ask me at:

aim: GoYouza
Ill try not to be tooo biased :)

Hope to hear from ya!

Yes - for what I'm using they are excellent! But I had to bargain, too!
The few times I needed support it was always fast and easy. I hope Mike (their tech) didn't leave (rumor re. ggj moving = I haven't had any reason to contact support in recent weeks) because he's really great!
I have a few submitters in my TGP who are with them and their sites are always reliable and fast.

This is my 5th host to this day, and the one I'm with for the longest time!

GeorgeTH...when I get the go ahead, I will let everyone know what happened with our last host. There is a lot more that happened than what you are saying.

I like M3 Server for a few reason and they do host all of my stuff.

1) They are NOT the host that use to host this board. :D

1) Been with them for many years now and they have always been there for me, their tech support is first rate.

2) No problems with slowing down are anything like that even with multiple huge TGP listings.

Basically fucking fast servers connected by huge pipes run be first class people and good prices.

I have two dedicated boxes with them. Go to m3server.com or use the drop down menu in my sig that also has my affiliate code in it. ;)
