Google removed my domain

Checked my logs little while ago.

No ref's from Google which struck me as very odd straight away.

I checked my site in IE and YEP- I was PR0'd and not even a domain search shows anything.

I went to Webmasterworld and saw someone else had their entire domain removed but admitted to doing some bad shit.

I had some 300+ pages indexed in Google with a nice spread of terms.

I have just 3 recip links total going to that index page. The recip link sites are fine.

Surfn, let me know if you want me to remove your link 'cos I have no clue what Google zapped my site.

The only thing I can think of is that I did Xfer my domain from GoDaddy and I was using domainsbyproxy on the domain.

I had to remove the domainsbyproxy service to Xfer the domain.

So, it is an entirely new WHOIS to Google. Yeah- this is a stretch, but there's literally nothing else I can think of.

The site you are linked to dropped from 4-0 over night. I'm not worried, I created my domain so I know it's not under penalty by some other owner. Just the typical google back and forth bull. I'm still getting my searches for my site.

Alphawolf 2004-08-06 06:12 PM

Surfn,

I see your page as a PR4 with 1 of about 81 pages indexed off that domain.

You see my site as PR0, right?

I know this isn't just a data center issue because there have been zero GoogleBot vists and Zero Google referrels since last night.

It's removed from all Google DC's and I don't know why.

I'm hoping it's the totally different WHOIS info and G will reindex the domain soon.

It's probably too early to worry yet. Just wait for a few months, and work on your other domains.

When did the whois change occur? Goog has been keeping up on the zeroing of recently dropped names. I'm less sure they zero simple transfers, someone else may know better about that.

Alphawolf 2004-08-06 06:31 PM

Bill,

That's my only money making domain up now.

But you're right- I'll work on the free site domains. Nothin' I can do about the Google shit.

Ironically, I woke up really early today so I could get a few free sites done and post here for comments before the weekend.

I've been so tired I have no creative or thinking juice going on in this noggin.

Well, I have all the images resized and thumbs made.

The Xfer went through 4 days ago.

I'm still seeing my site as "0". Like Bill said keep on keeping on and if it doesn't come back in a few months put all the files on another domain. The site you are linked to is 80% mirrored across 6 different domains (which are all 4 or above).

Just the links to other sites vary for the most part, small title changes, the usual. ;)

I hope that IPO takes a Hyooooooooge shit like they keep talking about on CNBC.

Google fuckers.

At least- 85% of the traffic to that domain is direct type in. :)

I got some replies on webmasterworld.

It seems if you change your WHOIS info you are screwed for a bit:

You may be on to something with the change of register. I recently transferred 2 domain names to another register and decided to change the registrant details at the same time to reflect my new business name and both sites which still have a dmoz and google directory listing went from pr4 to pr0.It was like they were treated as expired domains even though they weren't.
Oh, well- upwards and onwards. :)

Alpha Wolf I think you answered a "What The Fuck" for me |shake|
I transferred all but one of my domains earlier in the week (kept the same registrar)
lost top 10 placement on a lot of keywords, goggle traffic down about 80% |pissed|

Alphawolf 2004-08-08 03:57 PM

But your your domains are still in the Google index and you get *some* traffic?

Do you still have page rank on the domains you tranfered?

T Pat 2004-08-08 04:03 PM

Yeah the pr stayed the same
I haven't done anything different with those domains except change ownership
