Yahoo - What & How
Ok so tell me please, how does one get their sites listed in Yahoo? I get SE hits from Yahoo but not many and I'm not even sure for what keywords I get hits for. My SE stats are high from google so it's hard to determine what Yahoo is listing me with. I think it's galleries and free sites maybe.
When I search for some of my domains they are not there. Inktomi listing? Yahoo paid? Discuss this please... |
Has anyone gotten new sites into yahoo since Late May just by linking not submitting? I have many links to Ramsters domain on my sites that are definitely in yahoo but its not finding his site.

If you are talking about Ram's linklist, there's a well known anti-linklist artifact in yahoos serps. I'm uncertain if anyone has determined if this is an algo or a hand edit, but many linklists don't appear.
I think it would be a waste of time to buy in a linklists pages, in either ink or yahoo paid, but I don't know this for sure, and I haven't heard of it's being tested. It's fairly easy to get non linklist pages included, and it happens fairly quickly. Just link from sites known to spidered by yahoo, in a way similar to how you would get free pages included in the old inktomi databases. |

My link list explorexxx.com is very important and not listed, you're right. If you search for my tgp site BabeRankings.com you actually get my Title Tag (for some) but it's a link to me from another site and not my site. :( http://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=fp...p=baberankings I don't even know who owns that first page? LOL |
I just basically build, submit, hope for the best.
I too get a lot of traffic from Yahoo but going there just now is the first time I've even looked in a long time. At least Cleo's Links is in the serps, that and something to do with reptiles. lol |
At least a lot of those pages on that serp are yours, Ram- you probably would get less of a percentage on a google serp.
It's curious that a lot of big tgps are in the yahoo serps and do pretty well for some competitive terms, but many linklists are not, and apparently baberankings and other tgps are not. I haven't heard of a good explanation for the logic of how these various bigger heavily linked sites are either selected in or selected out of yahoo. There was the usual speculation that it was done to force people to buy in pages with yahoo paid-- but I haven't personally heard of a single confirmed case in which a linklist or tgp wasn't in yahoo, paid for spidering, and then was in. But, I pretty much have totally ignored yahoo pay to spider since it was first announced. I get in okay for free, why pay? It might be worth trying to buy your way in- let's see if anyone else speaks up who has tried it. |
I just build and link to my sites. I never submit to yahoo and always get listed and enjoy lots of traffic from there. If you don't get listed by yahoo then probably you should change your trade script. If you don't want non cookie enabled surfers on your site you also block the yahoo spider and eventually get banned... same happens with google.

Just got picked up from links. |
