Submitted galleries aren't were you should focus on pulling in SE traffic. You're better of trying to get SE traffic to pages which list your own galleries.

Server stats are programs that run on the server level and keep track of traffic and stuff. I believe the two most popular programs are AWStats and Webalizer. Your host probably already has them set...

Some people use SSI to handle what you're talking about. You can use htaccess to enable SSI on .html pages.

One reason NOT to use PHP or SSI is the increased server load. :)

I do it on my personal use galleries, but I don't submit galleries with pic pages. I considered grouping recips for sites which do allow it, but they're so few... it hardly seems worth it to me. |sad|

I've built pages with far more outgoing links then incoming links which are noticible SE traffic pullers. Instead of relying on lots of cheap incoming links those pages rely on a few key backlinks...
