It was only happening on 2 of my domains and in both the .htaccess file had one line:
AddType application/x-httpd-php .html

I don't know what this line is supposed to do...

I think the answer really depends on how well laid out the FS is.
In theory 40 recips sounds too much but when I look at this layout its fine, neat and tidy. I'd list it for sure. :)
