He could use a fake name for his whois and you wouldn't recognize it so it would make no difference. In my opinion you should not judge by the whois information but on the quality and reputation...

I try to always use both on galleries for example. In the middle I put a text link mentioning a trial price and on the bottom I put a text link "take the free tour" etc.
This way I think I get both...

do you care about the filesize or quality of the samples? normally my samples are 20 sec 1,7mb big but if I would submit to LLs I'd reduce that size to 1-1.3mb
