I haven't been overly impressed with google...

I haven't been overly impressed with google trends, now with alexa.

Compete isn't too bad, but when you compete your sites with google analytics vs these places they can be wildly inaccurate.

You can also add entries to your robots.txt file, disallow search engines from putting whole directory structures in the results.

As far as SEO, http://seomoz.org is a nice start.

I like ENOM, except the practice you're talking about here. If I register a domain and then don't update or use it straight away they send it to their own ads.

I don't really want my domains first...
