I'm not sure I like the business model of link dumps. I think you would do better to consider tgp or link list. Whatever model you choose, I'd advocate zero advertising inititally : add your own galleries and / or sites, hosted on a different domain to your tgp / link dump / free site. New surfers to your site will be put off by excessive advertising. Once you have a high level of bookmarkers, then gradually input increasingly more ads.
