My script automatically sends both acceptance and decline emails. As a freesite builder, if I've submitted 5+ sites to a link list and none are listed after 5-6 weeks, that LL falls into the "waste of my time" category and they're replaced with someone else. My submit list is about 80 LLs, and every couple weeks I end up dropping at least 3 or 4 and replacing them.
As the owner of a pretty new LL, I'm happy to submit to smaller/newer sites that don't send much traffic just to keep my Karma good...especially those owned by people who post here. It's good for SE placement in the long run (more backlinks), and good for the community.
I've had to drop some MAJOR LLs from my submit list recently because they simply won't list my sites. Dunno why...doesn't really matter all that much, since the LL traffic I get speaks for itself and I won't spend the time to completely revise my method of site building to try and get listed one or two more places.
If the LL owner posts on this board, it's always a good idea to post your sites for some feedback. If you've got no reasonable way to contact them then your options are limited.
In short, a freesite builder's submit list is a living, breathing thing that needs to be revised regularly. If they're not listing you, and 90% of the other places you submit are, drop them and don't look back.
