Not having yet read the articles above or the referred thread I can only imput from a female pov.
But now that I think about it, it's alot more in depth than I have the energy for right now.
I do, however think there's some important differences in what stimulates (in general) men and what stimulates women. Not speaking of particular acts so much as approach, surroundings, relation of the people in the images, sensuality of it.
Just as many male surfers are looking IMHO for something they don't have in their own lives, what women feel is lacking or what they are looking for in fantasy is what appeals.
Written erotic seems to appeal more to females because it provides more depth of a scenario, while men are statistically more aroused by visuals alone.
