Lay off the booze & ciggies (if you partake) and indulge in a daily diet of Pepto Bismol and Prilosec. Increase Folic Acid intake (you can get a supplement cheap pretty much anywhere; we use a store brand B-complex with C and FA). Avoid overly spicy foods (medical info doesn't back me up on this, but personal experience does).
