I must respectfully disagree with your greenness.
This way of thinking kept me in eternal lala land for many months when I was first submitting free sites, but not ready to start my own LL. I was so afraid of doing it wrong, I didn't do anything. I'm sure I lost an assload of traffic.
IMO: Slap up any old thing. The traffic will come; you can fix it later. Of course you want a decent looking, non-spammy, non-CJ page - but don't worry too much about the design right now.
So, there you have it, beano. You can listen to the successful guy, or listen to me. The choice is yours.
