Here's the deal: if all you have is 56k, conduct your business in a way that works with your means. Running a movie TGP is probably NOT a good idea (and running anything where you have to review alot of stuff probably isn't best). Building and submitting free sites, galleries, graphic work, etc is all more than a little possible under your situation.
As Cleo said, get a laptop with a wireless, and get access through a hotspot in town is that is what you really need.
Truly desperate? Rent a super small office in town (or a 1 room apartment) where higher speed is available and work there 10 -12 hours a day, especially if you think you can make enough income to make up the extra expenses.
There are always options, work with what you got or find an effective way to make it better.
