Actually the one that I was checking out was StarChoice. The hardware was about $1500 when they first came out and then dropped to about $1000 a month or so later later.
Also considering parking a PC a an office building a relative manages. They have a bunch of optical cable from a former tenant there that no one is using anymore. Then I can run a remote desktop, and have all the downloads/uploads run through that PC.
Another problem is with the time delay with the signal bounce. If you are doing online gaming, your duck command gets there a second after you already got shot.
