Kewl, I basically am just kicking around autogallery right now and trying to get some ideas. The site originally had 10 links in 12 categories on the main and about 100 in the archives, at this point I'm thinking that is probably a better way to go then 25 - 200...
I don't really have a prob with load time as there is very minimal advertising on the tgp itself. I plan to do my selling off the galleries their selves... Even at that it's probably too much for some surfers, so starting out a bit smaller may not be such a bad thing...
