Yep! That's the way to do it.
I reckon the only reason you need a faster machine is to run XP and all the addons and takeoffs you need to make it work.
With 98SE you had control and could do a few a few things to make it rock solid. With XP, Microsoft and half of the sites on the net seem to take control, and all you can do is to keep plugging holes and repairing the damage.
