check to make sure you are not getting hit by either a site scraper or one of those very strange and stupid bots. I have had a couple of bots in the past make a total mess of my stats, clicking on everything, running in circles, and generally being really stupid.
However, if you are getting a LARGE spread of IPs, here is something to try:
On your page, put a hidden link off before everything else. Send it to drudge or something. Then recheck your stats.
