Anyone know if there's such thing as a microphone jack to USB?

my microphone in on the back of my laptop has failed on my last few shoots, right when I need it most. So I was wondering if I could put it into a convertor and use the USB port, but as you could imagine searching through sites they all just bring up what each computer has.
