Bill - agreed - however the important concept here is that the PR5 could be a PR5.99 or 5.01 and its on a logarithmic scale (unknown base) but for relevancy the white paper over at Google assumes the same transfer whether to an outside page or an inside page.
Of course- my biggest question has got to be, how do you know its PR5? I dont know of any reliable method at the present to tell the real PR of a page. Also, the quality, and secondly the quantity of the links going to a page have 100s of times more effect on the recipient pages placing in SERPs which I would assume is most important to you? The only thing I can tell a higher PR does for you right now is get you botted more frequently, and get used as the basis for reciprical link request decisions by those who don't know what they are doing
