Hard and Fast Rules about Adult Blogging

Right now there is an influx of adult blog sites. Most are, lets face it, TGP's with a different name on it.

These sites quickly blend into the same masses. Its the same stuff they've been doing for ages and a lot of the time the same traffic.

So I thought we could talk about some hard and fast rules to set your adult blog away from those types of sites and away from other 'spammy' blogs in general. Fast ways to let your surfer know that your site isnt that standard crap.

1) Personalize your template.

This is pretty obvious. Make your site look unique. That's a great first step. A good logo, a great layout, good color scheme... all of these things make someone say "this site is different." and that's a good thing.

2) Personalize your blog. A FAQ, a "about the author", a contact form... all of these things can let the surfer know about you and relate to you, their author. People coming in from the blogsphere expect this. Not delivering it is a real dissapointment.

Your blog is about you even if its about porn and if its not it should be. The easier to communicate this the better.

3) Personalize your entries.

Lots of things you can do here, such as use an icon for each post, or have a funky avatar, or even sign the post each time with your name.

Mostly though having an opinion here is important. Think of your blog as a talk radio feed. If rush limbaugh just sat there and read the news who would give a shit? But having an opinion, and voicing it is invaluable.

4) Its not a TGP dont treat it like one.

Dont just dump some galleries into your blog and think its going to take off. Write. Cover things that interest you. Politics, adult news, celebrities. Its ok to get a little off center here. They can find porn anywhere, but your particular outlook on porn? That's yours baby.

Anyone got any others to add?
