Bob: Mary caught Jack mastrubating to porn the other night in his work den.
Bob's Wife: Oh my dear. Gosh.
Bob: Keep the kids away from their house for a while.
Bob's Wife: Only Jesus can save his soul now.
...That's the only "community affecting" scenario I can dream up. Unless they rally together to help Jack. But Jack can easily redeem himself by repenting to Jesus. Then, it's all good!
But don't expect these writers to back up anything they say. If they wanted solid facts to regurgitate they wouldn't be culling from a reprint of a few thousand year old book of stories. They have nothing to back them up. If you see them adopting a scientific fact then it's because it reinforces their agenda. They will agree with science as long as it fits their ideology.
