RBC, I have been in this business much longer than you would like to know. I have purchased much content in the past, and will do so in the future. As a matter of fact, I have all the purchase info and licensing stuff from the my rock bottom content here.

Not 2 weeks ago, you were looking to charge people for the service of providing documents.

Quote:
Here is our dilemma, we have had to bring on extra staff to deal with all the requests. We are trying to get the new site launched, shoot new content and market the business. To offset some of our costs, we thought if someone spends close to what they originally purchased, they would get the new content plus all the 2257 docs for their original content. A win win situation. What we have since discovered is that bulk CD's were sold of most of the old content. So then we figured we would charge a $5 administration fee per model to offset our expenses so as not to take a loss.
...and you have the nuts to talk down to me?

Will wonders never cease?

My question here was based on the original post:

We bought the URL RockBottomContent.com and some of the content back in October of 2004.
When I see "bought the content" it stand to reason that I would think that you bought the content. What wasn't said was that you in reality only bought the resale rights to foreign produced content. That gets into the question of primary producer / work for hire / all rights purchased stuff.

Knowing that a large part of the RBC catalog was shot in eastern euopean countries, my question is valid:

For those shoots that you are primary producers, will your content be compliant with the new ID requirements?

Further, are you willing to state FOR A FACT that the primary producers you list exist and are still maintaining the required records for the 5 year period?

Further, are you certifying that none of the material in question was done as "work for hire", and that those shoots done outside the US all have an active primary producer maintaining the records?

Anyway, you have cost yourself at least one client here today. Too bad, I was in the market for a bunch more new content.

So sad for you.
