thanks for the quick reply! Good point about the left aligned - I didn't notice that! Maybe something in the style sheet is buggering them up - will check into it. As for the directories, hehe, just been reading your comments on that in another thread.

I've tried to follow the advice I was given when I first posted here, about putting index files in directories and linking to images, rather than using index1, index2 etc. I also toyed with the idea of duplicating the main page and gallery html files for each folder, but then it struck me that I'd end up with several duplicate pages - and we know Google doesn't like them

- so I figured it was better to link to one main page from the individual directories. Now it turns out some folks don't like that either - there's more to this freesite builing than meets the eye isn't there?
