If you look at the freelancer bid for jobs type sites most seem to be charging $10-15/hr with those in the US charging $30-45/hr. I think if you want to get paid what youre worth then you should really look in to those types of sites because they tend to draw a more mainstream crowd that understand that coders need to eat too
. It's still really competitive but if you build up a reputation I'm sure you could be making a decent living after a while. Another thing you could be doing, like someone else said, is writing scripts that a lot of people will want. TGP/LL/Traffic trading scripts etc. It's a competetive market but there's plenty of room for improvement.
