I think you guys are being unfair to the FSC.

I'm sure they were inundated with many hundreds of new members in June, and combined with the legal efforts regarding 2257 that they are spearheading, I imagine that things are EXTREMELY busy down there lately. I've been a member for 3 years, and they managed to process my renewal which happened to come up in June in spite of all that was going on.

How long have you guys been members? Did you join just in June to cover your asses regarding 2257? If so, I'm not sure you have much of a right to complain about such things as the lack of website updates. Cut them some slack. The website will get back up to speed soon and will be better than ever I am sure.

I agree that there have been some communication issues with the FSC in the past (I never got my renewal sticker in 2004 for example), but they have also never been particularly well supported by a significant portion of folks in the business - until perhaps now. I think we will see some very good things from the FSC in the next few years.

And Raven, how would it look if the Free Speech Coalition sent out their newsletter in a plain brown envelope? What would that say about the organization and all of us? It's all about standing up for free speech, not apologising for it. If you are worried about the local postman seeing a newsletter that says "Free Speech Coalition", then you might be in the wrong biz. Hopefully the guys at my post office are not only seeing the logo but reading the newsletter, so they understand that some people are trying to take away their right to lie down with their wife at the end of a long day and watch a hardcore porn tape together.

I suggest that patience, solidarity and generous donations to the FSC might serve us all well over the next several years - the war against what we all do has just begun. It's going to get worse before it gets better.
