I've always been wary of putting a price for the reason mentioned earlier - you never know when it may change, especially if say a year from now a freesite gets some nice SERPS - could be a deal breaker.
On the other hand, some sponsors don't show any price whatsoever until *after* the surfer hits the join button, I've often wondered how the hell I make any sales at all on those, really, you gotta be extremely horny to click the button to start payment process without knowing how much it is. Anyways, I decided to send my traffic from a freesite thats #1 on yahoo for a very good term to a landing page - just a FPA that looked like the first page of the tour but with the trial price mentioned - $4.95 and then onto the tour proper, sales dropped right off. Could have been because of the landing page (although ctr to the landing page was around the same as ctr to the sponsor, with the landing page url clearly displayed in the status bar and on the same domain as the free site), or it could have been the price mentioned before they'd taken the full tour and had a chance to see the movie samples etc.
I dunno.
