When I read people talking about the death of AVS, I think the problem is that it has not died, it has changed, and many webmasters have not been able to change with it. I cannot understand why this is. Computing is a continually changing occupation, particularly in respect to the Internet. Most of us started on dial up, and are now on broadband, I doubt if there is much similarity between your first computer and your current one, and anyone who has been in the WM business more than a few years will tell you that the way they design sites now is totally different to the way they designed sites when they started. So why does everyone expect AVS to be the same as it was last century? It is still alive, vibrant, and profitable. It is just that it needs a 2005 approach, not a 1998 approach. And what works today will not work in a couple of years time, it will need a 2007 approach then.
