I used to have my server over at layered tech. The key is to use a domain for your nameservers that you don't submit with. My company is Maladapted Media. I own maladaptedmedia.com, but I don't host free sites on that domain. So, my nameservers back then were ns1.maladaptedmedia.com and ns2.maladaptedmedia.com. If you use a domain for your nameservers that you host free sites on, that can lead to potential problems getting accepted.
