Do me a favor,
send deluxepass an email. See if they answer. In fact anyone reading this,
try sending deluxepass an email - either by their contact form webpage or by your pop account - and see if you get an answer. Because I am not.
Someone in this thread mentions "if AVS was dead why would the avs site still be there?", from my own experience I can tell you why they would.
The overhead to keep the servers running is minimal. You can leave those running while you work at a plumbers office for a year or so.
Your staff and advertising and office rents are the killing loads. So you get rid of them. Meanwhile all looks normal to any surfer coming to your sites; infact from time to time a freak occurance occurs and someone buys something from one of your sponsors and you get a check.
Now why not just kill off the servers and be done with it? The answers are taxes and hope.
You hope the industry (or the business) will turn around. You hope someone will make an offer to buy your business. You hope you dont have to work at the plumbers next year too.
State and Federal Taxes are a funny thing; personal or a business, they got to be paid. But businesses get ALOT more deductions and write offs than an indiviual. So if you can choose between "I buy this and own it" or "the company buys this", you can see where that sort of choice can help you out.
So anyway that answers the question: if avs's are dead, why are the avs sites there running like normal.
And dont forget to try to contact deluxepass. I am interested in seeing if anyone out there has better luck than my three attemtps.
