The first 6 digits can give you a lot of info but they cannot give you an exact age - just a guestimate - and the state it was issued in is the first 3 digits so that parts easy. Im not sure how anyone could use the last 4 digits for an age verifiction unless they are running it through a validation service that guesses the approximate issue date based on a known set of numbers - however that is also flawed as most of us older folks didnt get a SSN when we were born like kids nowadays - we waited till we had to have one for our draft cards etc.
