You can still get a post through if you do it at the right time. I think they have daily and hourly (or 1/2 hourly) limits on free submissions. So if you do it early in the day, at the beginning of an hour, you will probably get the best results. I'm not sure though. I sent so much time resubmitting trying to get it to go through, I just ended up buying a submit account.

I've actually tried about a dozen times at different times of the day, exactly at a fresh half-hour by Richard's clock, and I've always either gotten a "half-hour limit reached" or "daily limit reached". (I don't know when he resets his daily limit, I tried at 5am EST today and it was already up.)
Oh well, I'm just going to save up a bunch of galleries and get a pass when I can get more out of it.
