Hey Fonz.

I too am asleep during the chat but I keep myself logged in overnight and read the discussion in the morning. I have attatched the log for the chat so everybody who did not get the chance to attend can have a read of what was discussed and maybe the topics covered could be discussed a little further. If Bill or anyone else does not mind I may do this each week.

I'd like to comment on what was discussed:

Sponsor RSS feeds:
I have to agree with Bill and DD that they probably aren't worth that much now, but something you can do is mix a variety of sponsor feeds (and maybe non sponsor feeds) and dont include to much of the post on your page, possibly have an automated way of editing titles or putting different text inbetween the different posts. This can give something unique to your page which SEs should like a bit more. Its not that good for surfers though as actually including the full posts, but you could create a specific page with mixed RSS feeds containing the full posts and make it just for surfers and put it on a No Index page or put it on a site where you dont care about SERPs assuming there would be a possibility of duplicate penalty.

another point is if you use non sponsor feeds (eg. from anyones blog that is in the niche) then you dont know what you might end up linking too. I've heard this can cause a lot of fluctuation in SERPs, and a way to lower it would be to have a META no follow tag.

Freesite Duplicates:
Have to again agree with DD that duplicate freesites and submitting to hundreds of LLs is not the best thing for SEs. Its better for SEs to have just a single freesite submitted the best LLs.

I personally think that linking back to another internal page within your freesite can be one of the more damaging things to do if you build duplicates. If you have say 4 copies of your freesite linking to internal pages then you have 4 duplicate doorways (maybe more depending how you build your freesite) linking back into your site which could be penalized by SEs. I have to say though that my evidence for this is quite poor and relates only to MSN. Google does not seem to care and I have no clue about the effect in Yahoo.
