I just read the rest of the thread.. Eastenders and corronation Street are the biggest and longest running soaps here in the UK.

Going off the subject a bit here...
Cheers also relates to when they have drinks in the 'Queen Vic'.

I remember one time when i was watching some out-takes when Babs and Pauline Fowler tapped glasses and said cheers and they broke and soaked them both LMAO!
